Is it a silver lining or simply a sliver of silver coating?
If I share, cash in my craft, shall all of its dignity crash and burn?
Will its beauty, purity, truth be spurned, turned upon its head?
Will it be free, shall it be mine anymore? Will it be just about them?
Shall I be soaked in streams I should not, do not wish to swim?
Can I still be myself?
Can art at a price and something earned
Still be called it?
There shall be limitations
There shall be shackles
When you work with jackals…
How much shall they alter bite
Invite distortion?
Shall it turn into something else?
Will selling out, sacrifice the soul
I strived so long to keep and nurture?
If I go global, enter the eyes of the people
And the editing department
Can I still call pure?
Am I unable to remain a sovereign with a quill?
As it is now, it is greater than any price…
But still gifts are there to exploit…

Rose Pillar liked to think that she was doing better with her anxiety. The day of her first dance recital saw her throw up all over her tights, and she almost passed out when her friends dared her to jump off the high dive at the pool. When I walked in and saw the woman leading the session was bigger than me, I felt my fear abate. Let me back up. I’m pretty fat. When I say that, I mean I’m very fat and I’m pretty. I’m not ashamed to say it. People have told me “You’re hot for a fat girl” and I took that in stride.
